Fiona grew up in an entrepreneurial family business - Gretna Green Group.
Schooled in Scotland, Fiona studied at Oxford University, (PPE, BA Hons, Msc. Management.)

Born in the Borders, Xa has a background in publishing and journalism. She studied at Edinburgh University and then moved to London where she worked on publicity and marketing for book publishers Victor Gollancz and Weidenfeld & Nicolson, before starting a career in journalism.
