CellBank will collect normally discarded bone, marrow and stem cells from the 1 million people who have knee/hip replacement surgeries each year. CellBank will process, store and deliver this stem cell-rich tissue for their bone grafting surgeries and future approved stem cell therapies.     He is a global leading expert in stem cell technology and recognized as #6 of the Top 50 Stem Cell Influencers. He has 40+ yrs in regenerative medicine and orthopedics, 400+ papers, 21 patents and 6 provisionals. A much sought-after industry consultant, he also founded businesses including Osiris and Cell Targeting (acquired by BioTime). Dr. Caplan is Professor of Biology and Dir of the Skeletal Res Center at CWRU with a PhD from Johns Hopkins.

    He brings over 30 years of leadership experience in the orthopedic industry including senior sales and leadership roles at Howmedica and Smith and Nephew where he managed the $700 MM global total joint business unit. Most recently, Mr. Hirsch was also the COO of BioMimetic Therapeutics, an orthobiologic start-up company. He holds a B.E.S from The Johns Hopkins University and an MSIA from the Krannert School of Business, Purdue University.
