Company Summary

Catalvalor intend to be a technological based company whose slogan is “A catalyst for change” and the main objective is the design and synthesis of solid catalysts for biodiesel production. Our main activities are the catalyst production (product) and process implementation consultancy (service). Our customers include biodiesel producers and technology suppliers for the biodiesel production.

Team

  • MSc in Chemistry, University of Porto (2007). Currently, is a PhD student in Chemistry at FCUP. Main scientific interests: Materials Science. 6 Publications in international scientific periodicals with referees.

  • Graduation in Chemistry, FCUP - Faculty of Sciences of University of Porto - (2003).
    M.Sc. in Chemistry, area of Physical-Chemistry (FCUP, 2005).
    PhD in Chemistry, area of Synthetic Organic Chemistry, within collaboration between FCUP and USC - University of Santiago de Compostela - (FCUP, 2011).
    Currently is Post-Doc researcher at FCUP concerning the development of catalysts for synthetic applications.

  • PhD in Chemistry (2011-FCTUC). Since 2001: participation in 3 R&D projects as researcher; participation in the organization of 2 scientific meetings in catalysis area. Until now, is author and co-author of 15 publications in peer-reviewed internacional journals and is co-author of 2 scientific book chapters. Currently is Post-doctoral Researcher at REQUIMTE-FCUP, in the design and synthesis of new catalysts for industrial application.

  • Cristina Freire
    PhD

    Associate Professor at the University of Porto (Portugal), in the Faculty of Sciences, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. Researcher at REQUIMTE – Associate Laboratory for Green Chemistry. Degree in Chemistry (1983) from University of Porto, PhD in Chemistry (1991) and Habilitation in Chemistry (‘Agregação’, 2005) from same University. She is (co)-author of 160 scientific papers (h-index=30).
