She holds unique experience in the technology’s manufacturing process, benefits, and limitations. Dr. Kaufmann specializes in biomaterials for medical devices and product development.

    Mauli Agrawal, Ph.D., a co-founder of Cardiovate, is the interim Vice President for Research at the University of Texas at San Antonio. As an expert in biomaterials he has started 3 biomedical companies in San Antonio including Xilas Medical (later Diabetica Solutions) of which he was the CEO during its early phase. He has strong connections with the investor community in Texas and direct experience with medical device startups.

    Steven Bailey, M.D., a co-founder of Cardiovate, is the Chief of the Department of Cardiology at UTHSCSA. He specializes in interventional cardiology and is considered to be among the top 1% of cardiologists in the US. Dr. Bailey serves as the Director of the Janey Briscoe Center of Excellence in Cardiovascular Research. Dr. Bailey has played an integral role in a number of medical device companies and holds several patents in the field.

    Dr. Niederauer currently acts as an advisor to Cardiovate. She has over 20 years of medical startup experience with 3 successful biotech companies to date. She has extensive experience in taking medical devices from concept to market including the FDA regulatory process expertise.
