Company Summary

CardioID developed a modular patent pending technology that pervasively acquires the heart signal(the electrocardiogram-ECG) on the hands of the user through sensors embedded in everyday life objects. Our first product is CardioWheel, steering wheel cover that enables the detection of fatigue/drowsiness, detect abnormal health problems (namely cardiac),and finally perform biometric identity recognition, everything based on driver’s heart signal.

    CEO

    He has studied Electrical and Computer Engineering-PhD@IST. Since 2005 he is an Assistant Professor at ISEL, lecturing topics on information processing and programming, and researcher at Instituto de Telecomunicações. A self-assumed entrepreneur, André worked at the startups Lusospace (from 2003 to 2005) and Albatroz Engineering (2006), and co-founded Minalytics in 2013. He also served as an IT consultant at Wedo Consulting (2001).

    Software & Data Computing

    He received his MSc degree in Biomedical Engineering from IST (2011). Previously, he was researcher at Instituto de Telecomunicações (2012-2015). He was part of the team that created BioSPPy (https://github.com/PIA-Group/BioSPPy) a toolbox for biosignal processing in Python.

  • Ana Priscila Alves
    Software & User Experience

    She received her MSc degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto (2011). She was a researcher at Instituto de Telecomunicações (2012-2015) and had a Research internship in Hokkaido University (Japan) for 2 months at the end of 2011. She was part of the team that created BITalino.
