Company Summary
Brightfield’s proprietary PXI technology allows users to image objects at a far higher resolution and contrast than conventional systems:
• for high energy x-rays in light materials, the refraction and scatter processes are much stronger than absorption, enabling the x-rays to better “see” small internal defects (down to 5 microns) or density changes inside the material;
• our technology is very sensitive to edges and material interfaces, allowing us to reconstruct the interior of an object with high resolution. Organs, fatty tissue, and muscle are now easily viewable without contrast agents, and we can image plastics, light alloys, and most composites and detect heretofore unseen defects;
• our glancing angle interferometry technology is the only means of utilizing PXI technology at the x-ray energies currently utilized for clinical imaging and non-destructive testing (“NDT”);
• we use standard x-ray tubes and detectors which - combined with our imaging algorithms - limits the total radiation dosage to 25% - 50% of standard CT imaging.
