Lief received a B.S. in Optical Engineering from UC Davis. His passion for efficient lighting brought him to join a team to develop compact form factor fiber optic illuminators. During his two years in the firm, he developed a strong sense of electromechanical design. In 2009 he founded Boombotix with a vision to create the most advanced ultraportable speakers ever seen.
