    CEO

    Arthur Hayes obtained his BA in Economics at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in 2008. Subsequently he moved to Hong Kong where worked as an equity derivatives trader for Deutsche Bank and Citigroup for 5 years. Arthur was the head ETF market maker at both firms. In January 2014, BitMEX - Bitcoin Mercantile Exchange was formed.

    CTO

    Sam is a specialist in the construction and management of large-scale web and cloud applications. He writes primarily in JavaScript and compile-to-JS languages. He has held the CTO role at two previous technology firms Global Brand Solutions and Tixelated. Sam is a 2010 graduate of Washington and Lee University with a degree in computer science. Sam is responsible for the webserver and the front-end UI/UX. He also built and maintains the API.
