I am doing a POC on food delivery in NYC. I am self funded for now. The business model is to deliver food to the customers and charge the customer either a flat fee ( this is applicable if the customer has subscribed to our delivery service) or a sliding fee for delivery anywhere in Manhattan. We have built a zoning algorithm in the back end that will calculate the delivery fees.
