Company Summary
Since its inception in 2010, BioFront has successfully launched over 25 commercial products within the fields of Allergy and Infectious Disease. One such technology that BioFront has helped to develop and bring to the forefront of various markets is the use of monoclonal antibodies as the basis for protein detection kits aimed at detecting contaminating amounts of potentially allergenic tree nut proteins in various food products.

While pursuing his doctorate under the direction of Dr. Kenneth H. Roux, Dr. Robotham worked to identify the major allergenic proteins in various tree nuts. He received two patents for his work in this field and moved on to become a post-doctoral research associate in laboratory of Dr. Hengli Tang at FSU. For the past five years Dr. Robotham has studied the Hepatitis C Virus and in 2010 co-founded BioFront Technologies Inc.

Dr. Tang served as Director of Infectious Disease Reasearch for Immusol, Inc. (currently iTherX) in San Diego (a biotech start-up) prior to joining the faculty of Florida State University, where he is now a tenured faculty membert. He was recently awarded The Research Project Grant (R01) from National Institute of Health spanning the next five years for his work on HCV. Dr. Tang successfully founded two previous startups, one of which he sold.
