Team

  • Matthew recently completed his MBA with Distinction at the University of Oxford. Outside of his CFO role with BioCarbon, he held the position of Fellow at the Entrepreneurship Centre. Matthew is a CA and has completed the CFA program examinations. Matthew has experience across 3 continents, having worked at investment bank Macquarie Group in Sydney, Australia, and in manufacturing in SE Asia, where he helped to establish operations.

  • Lauren is a Physics PhD candidate. He holds an M.S.(Civil and Environmental Engineering, Stanford). He was an Engineer for NASA across the Space Shuttle, International Space Station, and Mars exploration programs. Expertise include environmental and space systems engineering, and planetary sciences. He is a serial entrepreneur (Alkutec, Peru & Terra Recovery, UK). He was founding faculty at Singularity University at NASA Ames in Silicon Valley.

    Irina Fedorenko is a Geography PhD candidate and holds a MSc (Environmental Policy) with Distinction, and a Marketing & Advertising Degree (Far Eastern Federal University). Irina established an Environmental NGO, and has fisheries research (Vladivostok), and forestry startup experience (Moscow). Irina was recently a visiting scholar at the Yunnan University of Economics and Finance, conducting research on forest conservation in China. 

  • Marketing & Policy

    Martin Tengler is a MA candidate (Economics, University of Tokyo) and holds a MSc (Global Governance and Diplomacy). Martin previously worked for Anheuser-Busch InBev (logistics optimisation), and at the World Resources Institute (GHG-measurement in construction). Martin's "Activists and Extractive Industries" think piece evaluating activist-corporation deals in forestry was recognised as a winner of the UNRISD Young Scholars Series.

  • Engineer

    Susan Graham holds a PhD in Engineering with undergraduate studies in Engineering and Medical Science (University of Sydney). Susan has worked at the Royal North Shore Hospital (Sydney), the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation, Cochlear Ltd, and was awarded the Student Engineer of the Year by Engineers Australia. Susan captained the Wolfson College Boat Club and co-founded Feather & Square, developing OxBridge rowing apps.

  • Engineer

    Shuning is an Engineering PhD candidate and graduated with bachelor degrees in Electrical Engineering and Physics (University of Sydney) where he was awarded the Fujitsu Prize for Computer Engineering and the ResMed Prize for Biomedical Engineering, and a Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Grand Challenges Exploration Grant. Before his PhD Steve also worked as a freelance programmer for the Australian Museum and Pearson Publishing, among others.
