Lucas was born in suburban Detroit in 1988, but he grew up in the small, northern Michigan town of Mio. At a young age, Lucas decided he would be a singer. He started by singing along to CDs his older brothers, Clayton and Mathew Bowers, had tossed aside. It wasn’t until Lucas met Steven Crandall in high school that he became serious about his music.
