Bandgap is changing the face of solar. We are leading the change in the industry to nanostructured silicon solar cells. Our first product is an engineering service and license to increase the efficiency of existing cell lines, doubling the cell manufactures' margins. Our second generation technology lowers the cost of solar electricity to be cost competitive with coal.

    Dr. Black has more than 20 years experience related to solar energy. Marcie was a technical staff member at LANL and a device engineer at Motorola. She was awarded an R&D 100 award (2009) and honored as one of the 10 “Women to Watch in 2010” by Mass High Tech. She earned her PhD (2003) and her Masters of Engineering (1995) from MIT’s EECS. She has published over 30 articles and 4 book sections, has 7 patents issue with many more pending.
