Company Summary
Traditionally, neuroscience is only taught in graduate school. This is because access to tools, protocols and live animals has only been available to higher education. Backyard Brains enables everyone to be a neuroscientist! We provide affordable neuroscience experiment kits for students of all ages to learn (hands-on) about electrophysiology. By following simple steps, everyone can learn about the brain, senses, memories, hopes, and desires.

TED Fellow and Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering. Started the company in his basement in Grad School with lab mate Tim Marzullo. Greg had 10 years of experience as an electrical engineer in industry before going back to grad school to study neuroscience. Co-authored a scientific paper on the effectiveness of inventions as a teaching tool for neuroscience.

Timothy C MazrulloCo-Founder
Kaufmann Fellow and Ph.D. in Neuroscience. Started the company with Greg while working at a Neuro-technology company. Tim is an evangelist, prototyper, and leads the experiments for Backyard Brains.
