More than 20 million people in the Horn of Africa are in need of food aid. Simultaenously, the region offers production from an estimated 80-100 million smallholder farmers producing on 2-5 acres of land, 80% produced by women. Tthe Backpack Farm Agriculture Program (BPF) is is a modular system of green agri-tech inputs supporting production of 10 crop families packaged in ¼, ½ and 1 acre units coupled with finance & training.

Rachel is responsible for incubating and launching the Backpack Farm Agriculture Program. She guides the organization with more than a decade of hands-on experience facilitating international business, local non-profit and social entrepreneurship in post-conflict countries including Kosovo, Jordan, Iraq, Kenya and Southern Sudan.Rachel founded Medea Group believing it is possible to “do good making money.”
