During the mid-2000 he returned to figurative painting for a short period of time. Avrumi Mashinsky painted themes such as female nudes or portraits. Howeer, from 2009, he returned to his abstract compositions in which circles and rhythmic colors are the dominant elements.

His abstract paintings are made up of simple geometric shapes, such as circles, and bright colors. In his works, he combines geometric shapes and colors in order to create composition rhythms that cause a sensation of movement.

Most of his works are classified as "Orphism" which set out to liberate Cubism by giving it a more vibrant color and greater thematic freedom. One of Avrumi Mashinsky best known works is entitled Circles.
