Atlas Regeneration Technologies, LLC is developing a sensor for water softeners, which substantially reduces the salt released into municipal sewer systems and the amount of water that is wasted. The patent-pending CalSensorII prototype was developed at The University of Texas at El Paso and detects hardness minerals in softened water. Atlas will develop the prototype and sell turnkey devices to established softener systems manufacturers.
