    CEO/Founder

    Richard has a Masters in Theology (distinction) and was a partner in a Financial Services Business before rekindling his lifelong passion for coding. He formed Astute Labs in November 2009 in order to seek out the best business model to take advantage of the mobile opportunity. Learning several programming languages since then (Obj C, Python, Javascript) he developed  &  launched  ‘School  App  Kit’, gaining worldwide customers.

    Over  20  years’  technology  business  leadership   excelling in business unit start-up, sales and account development, operations, product program leadership, consulting and professional services within the mobile, telecommunications, utilities, process control and medical systems businesses.

  • Brian Douglas
    Technologist / iOS Development

    Brian graduated from Queen’s University Belfast with a degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, and later returned to do a Post Graduate Certificate in Education.
    He has 3 years experience as a Teacher of Physics at one of Northern Ireland’s leading Grammar Schools. As a Software Engineer he was worked for three Fortune 100 companies as well as some local Irish firms. Up until May 2011 he worked for Liberty I.T. in Belfast.

  • Colin Mitchell
    CTO

    Over 30 years experience in technology-related fields covering electronic design, software development, multimedia, network infrastructure, management and sales & marketing. He was involved with the negotiations with Tesco.com that led to the creation of Tesco Diets (www.tescodiets.com) and as Head of IT led the technical development through further expansion to a multi-million pound operation.

  • Jamie Carter
    Design

    Jamie is a passionate, instinctive, detailed and skilled designer. He has achieved a Masters in Pharmacy and has held responsible positions in Pharmacy and Healthcare. His work on School App Kit has covered everything from the acclaimed logo design through to web promotion, app interface design and user experience concepts. He brings expertise and knowledge in web trends and web design, is multi talented, high achieving & relentlessly motivated.
