Company Summary

Artlanes.com is a venture by Art Seers Online Services Pvt. Ltd, a startup firm based out of Pune, India. It is a market place for Indian art form that focuses on the burgeoning Art and handicraft industry aiming to providing a platform for art, artists and art lovers. It works in a B2C (Retail) and B2B (Bulk order including exports).
The current gaps in this industry essentially leave this sector highly unorganized with point-to-point communications between the stakeholders (Business – Customer – Artists – Distributors). By getting artisans, distributors and customers on one structured platform we intend to broker and facilitate such communication. This will generate immense interest in being part of our platform due to the reduction in complexity and the global reach that the platform provides.
The platform enables us to collate all data and perform sentiment and predictive analysis. Artisans and distributors can target customers based on demographics, geography, age groups, regional festivals etc.
What is our Unique Proposition?
1. Currently most competitors have evolved either as major furniture providers or apparel providers (Eg: Urban Ladder, Pepper Fry, Craftsvilla etc)
2. Have two forms of art-work: Industrialized (where artifacts are made in bulk) and Hand-made (where exclusive art forms like Kalamkari, Pattachitra, Gond, Tribal art are promoted)
3. Retail and Wholesale model – Basically engage in B2C (Retail), B2B (Wholesale) and also B2G (Use government handicraft councils in various state to promote Indian art forms).

Marketing – should be cost efficient and effective
1. Tie up with the likes of Housing.com, 99acres.com, magicbricks.com and offer our services for home decorating while customers are buying homes.
2. Tie up with big city builders like Marvel and decorate their sample flat
3. Sending mailers to architects and interior designers informing about our website. Giving them discounts on prices once they register and buy from us. Socializing in different cities with Architects and Interior Designers.
4. Through a social media blitzkrieg by having a team constantly bombarding Instagram, Facebook and Twitter with all new and upcoming products and offers.

What is the entry barrier?
We have taken the hard route of developing personal network with Artists and distributors in the past 8 months. We have tied up with Artisan community in Moradabad, Saharanpur, Jaipur, Jodhpur and Madhya Pradesh for now. This is just the beginning and this will grow exponentially once we tie up with government federations (which is under way). It will take close to 2-3 years to build a robust backend network of artists and distributors. We plan to move around the country furthering our network with Artists and Artisans during this period. For any new player, they cannot succeed unless this backend is built over a period of 2-3 years.
