Founded by a former U.S. Air Force Officer, Appalachian Aerospace will lead a public private partnership with major universities (University of Pikeville and Morehead State University) to conduct space medicine research and development.

Licensing and sales of the technology and data produced through research and development will provide the revenue. Potential customers include NASA, the European Space Agency, and SpaceX.
