Company Summary

Anvil Semiconductors spun-out from the Warwick University in 2010. It has patented technology in Silicon Carbide (SiC) that could have a disruptive effect on the multi $Bn power electronics industry by supplying power devices with the efficiency advantage of SiC for the price of Silicon. Anvil has early demonstrators in two key areas and is currently developing prototype devices with a view to licensing one and developing the other.

Phil founded the Power Electronics Applications in Energy Research Group (PEATER) at Warwick in 2005, to establish a world-class centre for research into power electronics, power semiconductor devices and applications in power systems and power conversion. Professor Mawby has built an international reputation in the area of power electronics and power device research.
