Company Summary

AKT North America is the US developer of the secondary organic material market for AKT International's internationally proven and patented KIX Dehydration Technology with a focus to recover and reuse valuable proteins and nutrients that are otherwise lost during the production process. With the River Valley Poultry Litter Conversion project, we are converting poultry litter into a high quality cattle feed ration at savings to the cattlemen.

    As an Investment banking underwriter (1999) I became aware of AKT and the KIX Dehydration Technology. I started a development company to support the systems focus around catfish processing and offal (waste) recycling. After taking time out with family in 2003 in 2009 I started back with ECDS and then AKT North America to build the market need and develop projects around the KIX system and vision of protein waste recovery and meals development

  • Mike Merritt

    Mike has 20+ years experience in Human Resources with Entergy, Illinois Tool Works, and BF Goodrich Aerospace with a Background in plant startups, training, team building and staffing. He was responsible for the startup & growth of a successful family owned services business, a 3,000 acre farm operation. He is a Colonel in the Army National Guard and holds a BS in Biology & Masters in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College.

    Dennis C. Cossey founded ThermoEnergy Corporation in 1988, and CEO and Chairman until 2011. Executive positions include Babcock-Thermo Carbon Capture, IBM, United Capital Management, P. Kiewit, and American Fuel and Power. He attended the University of Arkansas majoring in Philosophy and Economics. Memberships include the New York Academy of Science, the National Safety Council, the American Chemical Society, and the Asia-Pacific Water Council.

He’s held director level positions in logistics, retail and production operations w/Tyson’s, Pet Solutions, and Wal-Mart. Work at Tyson’s & Pet Solutions was directly linked to conversion of protein waste streams into usable products. Over 20 years in the Army National Guard. Holds a BSME and MBA.
