Adventure Data builds a backcountry ski pole that has sensors in the tip for analyzing the snowpack to aide in avalanche avoidance. The user obtains a profile that transmits wirelessly from the probe to their phone. These readings assist the user in tracking changes in the snowpack throughout backcountry travel. If they see an unexpected change in their readings, or encounter a new layer, they will know to reassess.
