Adjustable Tint is designed to make drivers and passengers safer and more comfortable when driving in bright sunshine. The glass used for the windows of the vehicle and its rearview mirrors is specially treated with an auto-darkening filter so is will provide protection for the eyes of those in the vehicle. The level of darkness can be set and adjusted from 5% up to 70%, by the driver. The device for adjusting the level is connected to the vehicle’s battery. There will be an application for users with smart phones that will give owners complete control of the product while he/she is away from the vehicle/vehicles. Once the application is opened, owners can adjust the windows and mirrors without being in the vehicle. This application could be linked to the security program for the owner’s home. Once the level is set, the glass will darken automatically when exposed to bright sunshine or bright headlights in the mirrors. When purchasing a vehicle with this safety feature added, drivers will be able to select the color of the tint they would like to have in their vehicles. This same technology can be used for the lenses in eyeglasses to provide protection from bright light. The eyeglasses will adjust automatically to the shade and level of tint the user has selected.
