Access Afya is creating a social business to keep people living in East Africa’s urban slums healthy through micro-clinics and field health programs.
Access Afya (“Health” in Swahili) is creating a private sector primary care model, starting in Nairobi’s slums. The anchor of the model are micro-clinics staffed by qualified Kenyan clinicians. These are linked to the community through local health workers and field based "subscription health" programs. The clinic offers acute care consultations and tests, chronic packages, and has an attached pharmacy selling authentic medication.
