    A graduate of Dartmouth College (B.A., English), Ogden is both an educational entrepreneur and a teacher. He's the former Founder and CEO of Lyceum Communications, where he was responsible for the development of Get A Clue®, the Web-based vocabulary program now owned by FableVision. In June 2010, he left his position as a full-time English teacher at Falmouth (Maine) High School to focus solely on AcademicMerit.

    Vice President, Sales

    A graduate of the University of Illinois (B.A.), Syracuse University (M.A.), and Northeastern University (M.B.A.), Brian has spent his entire career in the education market. Prior to joining AcademicMerit, he served as Vice President of Sales for Inspiration Software; prior to that position, he was Director of National Sales for Scholastic, Inc.’s Tom Snyder Productions.

    Tech Lead

    A graduate of West Chester University of Pennsylvania (B.S., Computer Science), Sam brings more than 14 years of technology and entrepreneurial experience to AcademicMerit. He has worked in an eclectic mix of fields, including financial services (Ecount, now Citi Prepaid Services), e-commerce (Monetate, spree.com), and higher-education administration (SunGard Higher Education, the Kuali Foundation).

  • Susan Jacob
    Academic Director

    A graduate of Bates College (B.A., English) and the University of St. Thomas (M.A., English), Sue has been teaching in grades 7-12 since 1994, and received her National Board of Professional Teaching Standards Certification (English/Language Arts) in 2005. Most recently, she was I.B. Programme Coordinator at Washburn High (Minneapolis), providing professional development support for teachers in the use of assessments to enhance learning.

    Director, School Relations

    A graduate of NYU (B.S.), with a Masters from Harvard University's Graduate School of Education, Susan began her career teaching elementary school in the U.S. and abroad, then shifted her focus to curriculum and product development with Smarterkids.com, Classwell Learning Group, and most recently as Director of Education for Walch Publishing. She is responsible for successful implementation of AcademicMerit's tools.
