Yubeyi.com is an online shopping where you buy products and get products delivered to your home or office without wasting your time. We saw people do not have time to waste to go shopping; sometime it is hard to find a product because you have to go to many shops. We saw also some sellers do not get a lot of customers due to space or geographical limitation, Yubeyi.com is here to solve all these problem, it helps people buy products online removing a long run to find products and wasting their time, sellers can sell anywhere in country removing geographical limitation.
We are doing this because we saw Rwanda is developing quickly and every service is moving to online and government ICT policy is clear, now we have fastest internet in region, we have 4g LTE, Free WIFI in public places, and now internet usage is growing rapidly 36% and mobile penetration is 74% as of 2014 and now up to 6 millions Rwandans use Mobile money services and online mobile money transaction recorded 691,5 millions in 2014 only. Around 3.5 Millions use Internet and 8.8 millions have mobile phones and most of them are smartphones.
Now we are targeting all these people to use our service. We make money by taking commission fee from our sellers we take up to 7% and with great marketing if we get at least 20 orders a day we can make up to 100 millions Rwandan francs in a year. We use mainly online advertisement because most our clients are online, we use also affiliates programs and word of mouth to reach our customers
We are not alone in the industry, we have competitors, mainly Kaymu.rw and have had success since it started but they charge higher commission fee to sellers up to 11%. We have an easy to navigate website and products images and details which are very clear compared to them, and this attracts lots of customers. We started in February this year and we got around 18 orders and our system recorded 3,168,200 Frw in lifetime sales. We are working with top brands like Samsung, Tecno, Nokia, Sharp and many more, all their products can be sold online now and we are looking to increase our products catalogue to 25 000 products next year.
