Michael has 25 years of software development and technical team management experience in commercial software, telecom, education, global nonprofit, and financial services. Michael has been actively involved with the Python software development community since Python 1.5 in 1997. Recent hands-on technical projects include work on the Ethereum blockchain, the R statistical programming language, and Microsoft's Azure Machine Learning platform.

Dr.Mahvi is a surgical oncologist. He has focused his clinical practice on the treatment of GI cancers. Dr.Mahvi has served in multiple C-level roles in academic medical centers. He has lead research labs focused on device development and innovation, as well as serving as the Chair of the American Board of Surgery. Dr.Mahvi has founded 3 other start-ups in the medical device field and is the holder of 5 patents in medical devices.
