Company Summary

Producing a new class of semiconductor broadband light source, called the double-pass light source (DPLS), with higher power, higher efficiency, and broader spectrum than the state-of-the-art superluminescent light-emitting diode (SLD), previously invented by our founder, G. A. Alphonse, now in use in fiber gyroscopes and OCT ophthalmic systems, with future applications to smart fiber sensors.

Team

  • SB, SM MIT in Physics, PhD Yale in Applied Physics, Post-Doc and Business Program at Harvard. Long experience in optoelectronics including Group Head at Sarnoff. Previous C-Level experience in technology ventures.

  • Gerry Alphonse
    Chairman and CTO

Prolific inventor (6- patents) including state-of-the-art SLD currently in widespread use in fiber optic gyro and optical coherence tomography (OCT) applications. Formerly at Sarnoff. BSEE, MSEE (NYU), PhD (Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn). IEEE Fellow and NJ Inventor's Hall of Fame.
