As a society we are increasingly returning to urban living, the vibrancy of city life creates opportunities for human expression that speak to our core as interconnected beings. At the same time, cities face growing and chronic stresses: Issues like high unemployment, overtaxed civic infrastructure, intractable violence, and food and water shortages are making city living continually more difficult. For this Urban Resilience and Smart Cities Accelerator by Conscious Venture Lab, we invite entrepreneurs focused on the way open and big data, connected devices, the Internet or Things (IoT), Blockchain technologies and other technological advances can be put to work to improve the way we provide services in cities, how we live together and find new ways to use technology to increase economic opportunity and create more livable and equitable urban environments.
