Rotary Den - A Crowd Favourite Idea Pitch Competition

Helping college students and recent alumni at Bow Valley College and Lethbridge College pitch ideas and start their entrepreneurial journey

This is the preliminary round of the Rotary Den Crowd Favourite Idea Pitch Competition that is open to all students and alumni of Bow Valley College who are aspiring or first-time entrepreneurs looking to kick-start their entrepreneurial journey.

All you need is an idea for a business - it does not have to be up and running.

No business plan or financial analysis is required to enter or win cash.

The six finalists will compete for a share of the $3,000 in cash prizes on Thursday, April 22^nd.

For those looking to improve their pitching skills, we are hosting "How to Pitch Your Idea Sessions" on Thursday, April 1^st and Saturday, April 3^rd.

Contestants enter by providing basic information about their idea along with a two to three minute video.

Ideas must be new, or new to you.

*** Only Bow Valley College students and alumni who have not previously started a business in Canada are eligible to compete. ***

Submissions are scored by members of the Rotary Club of Calgary Heritage Park and on April 12th the top six will be notified.

The top six as scored by the Rotarians then get up to three minutes to pitch their idea at the beginning of the finals of Bow Valley College's VentureQuest Business Idea Competition held 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 22^nd.

Once all six finalists of the competition have pitched a poll will be launched and the crowd can vote for who they think did the best job of pitching their idea.

The $3,000 in cash prizes will be distributed according to the percentage of votes received in the poll launched after all six finalists have pitched.

The winners are announced at the end of the event which includes pitches by the finalists of the VentureQuest Business Idea Competition.
