Forestry Accelerator 2024

Innovation and commercialization in the forest industry

The Forestry Accelerator is a four month program open to North American startups that are commercializing new and improved products, services, and technology in the forest industry.

The Accelerator provides forestry startups with connections to industry experts, customers, suppliers, partners, pilots, investors, and industry leaders and a comprehensive commercialization curriculum, in partnership with ecosVC, to develop your business case, business model, and go-to-market plan.

The program includes both virtual and in-person components and companies receive financial support for two trips to Vermont's Northeast Kingdom to connect with other cohort members and industry leaders.

Benefits:
* A rigorous commercialization curriculum, provided by Accelerator partner ecosVC.
*Connections to and feedback from industry experts and other mentors throughout the program.
*No cost to participate. All companies receive a stipend to support travel to two in-person sprints in Vermont.
*Peer-selected prize money awarded at the end of the Accelerator, along with access to funding to support pilot projects in Vermont.

Dates:
*July 22 and 23, Kickoff (virtual)
*August 19-21, Sprint 1 (Vermont)
*September 30-October 2, Sprint 2 (virtual)
*November 4-6, Sprint 3 (Vermont)

In addition, there are 4 virtual panels and meetings with coaches spread throughout the program.

Focus Areas

*Products that use chips, dust, resins, shavings, byproducts, and other low grade wood.

*Technology that improves forest industry operations, production, automation, sales throughout the supply chain, or forest management.

*Products or services that increases the use of wood heat or energy or improve its efficiency, either through new or improved fuels or heat or energy systems.
