Communitas America builds impact ecosystems in under-resourced communities to support social entrepreneurs who want to create social impact in their communities. As a social impact firm we support changemakers who are creating innovative solutions to solve social problems. We have a strong belief that social problems can be solved in a healthier way as more Changemakers come into being.

Founded in 2017, Communitas America comes from Kyungsun Chung's previous work through Root Impact, a social venture firm in South Korea. Communitas America envisions the world where everyone can make a real change. In order to help young social entrepreneurs and Changemakers who endeavor to bring positive changes in the world.

We are committed to fostering a community that values diverse perspectives and experiences, particularly from those who we aim to serve. We actively seek founders from, or who have worked closely with, historically marginalized groups, including but not limited to: people of color, people with disabilities, LGBTQIA+ people, first- or second-generation immigrants, and people from low-income families.
