Communitas Ventures Fall 2019

Empowering and investing in local changemakers, women and founders of color.

Communitas America serves changemakers and social entrepreneurs by investing in and empowering them through our social impact accelerator, Communitas Ventures.
It is a cohort-based accelerator that invests in changemakers who are addressing local issues and creating more equitable and inclusive solutions. Our work is even now more critical today especially with the growing nationwide movement to address racial injustice and inequality.

Starting this summer, we will launch an accelerator dedicated to women founders. Women owned small businesses are critical to revitalize local economies, however there is a lack of resources available for women to access. Our Women Founder’s Cohort will enable participants to access initial resources, forge meaningful business relationships, build solidarity and empower each other. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from expert subject matter speakers, and receive constructive feedback with regards to their own entrepreneurial journeys to successful women-led impact ventures.

Requirements if Accepted:

-Must be able to commit to 1-month of programming (Only 1 Absence is Allowed)
-Participate in out-of-class activities, including completing assignments, attending networking
events and business
-Excited and willing to actively engage with the community of changemakers
-Commit to a post-accelerator survey and one annual short-survey for 2 years
