About this Program
The Cleantech Hackathon aims to bring together Pakistan’s emerging innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem to develop practical, scalable and cleaner solutions in the field of renewable energy, water management, environmental protection and building the country’s climate resilience.
Seven sub-themes have been identified through a consultative process with OGDC and LUMS faculty. These lie at the intersection of OGDCL’s operational context and future growth opportunities, Pakistan’s evolving energy and environmental challenges, and LCE’s focus on entrepreneurship and innovation. Rather than limiting participants to conventional oil and gas solutions, the themes encourage them to look across the wider energy value chain, from generation and efficiency to decarbonization, water management, access, finance and new business models.
The objective is to create a platform where startups, students, and emerging innovators can identify real-world challenges, apply emerging technologies, and develop solutions that have potential for commercialization, piloting or wider ecosystem adoption.
