Mykolaiv, a city deeply affected by the unprecedented challenges brought forth by the Russian war, is making a strategic pivot towards the Blue Economy to foster economic recovery and sustainable growth. With its rich maritime history and location by the Dnipro River and the Black Sea, Mykolaiv aims to leverage the sustainable use of water-based resources to spur economic development, support livelihoods, and promote environmental stewardship.

To support this vision, UNDP Ukraine is launching the Mykolaiv Blue Spark programme. We’re inviting micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) to apply with innovations related to the blue economy that leverage green/blue, sustainable, and resource-efficient solutions. Whether you’re pioneering marine technologies, eco-friendly maritime services, or resource-efficient business models, we want to hear from you!

The Ukraine x BOOST: Mykolaiv Blue Spark program will select up to 10 MSMEs with innovations demonstrating the most potential for sustainable impact and growth. Selected enterprises will receive essential training, mentorship, and US$10,000 to further develop, test and/or implement their innovations during the period July-November 2024. Additional funding opportunities may become available after the final Demo Day.
