The WECAN - Windsor Essex Capital Angel Network of investors is focused on early and mid-stage investments in the Windsor-Essex Region, Ontario, Canada & USA.
Our Investment Focus
WECAN - Windsor Essex Capital Angel Network is one of Canada's youngest Angel Investing networks. It includes members from the Windsor-Essex Region of Ontario from Windsor through to London, Ontario as well we have a "cross-border" relationship with Great Lakes Angel Group from Troy, Michigan.
Our WECAN Members work together and with other Angel Investment Groups in Ontario, Canada and the USA to evaluate and fund early-stage companies across North America through deal syndication.
Our mission is to provide opportunities for WECAN members to invest in top tier early-stage companies with a local focus and global growth potential. WECAN members provide seed and early-stage capital of between $75K and $1M with syndication, an investment range not generally served by venture capital funds, thus serving as a catalyst helping to build Ontario's economy into a thriving center of technology and entrepreneurship. Alongside financial support, WECAN provides mentorship, industry sector expertise and valuable contacts.
WECAN Members are looking to invest in high growth technology and growth industry companies. We have a broad definition of technology which includes numerous industries. WECAN also has various internal special interest and skills groups that screen investment opportunties from A to Z from (Aerospace - Automotive - Agriculture) to (Manufacturing - Marketing - Medical Devices) to (Software - Saas - Telecommunications).
