The Southern Oregon Angel Investment Network is organized with the purpose of increasing the amount of non-traditional seed capital and angel funds available in the region by connecting startup and existing companies with the capital needed to grow a scalable venture or expansion.
Investors are focused on a space of capital between $50,000 and $300,000 for companies stuck at the limits of personal credit cards, home equity lines of credit, friends and family. Investors are looking to fund companies poised for scalable growth once they can raise the next tranche of capital.
Startups or existing companies with scalable expansions are highlighted to a strong and diverse group of investors when a business plan is submitted for review. Investors review business models and select companies for further due diligence to determine if an angel investment opportunity exists.
While investors chase a rate of return commensurate with the risk of a startup, regional economic development stakeholders are close partners in a broader effort to generate new employers, wealth and sector diversity; namely organic growth from within the region.
