Mockingbird Ventures Seed Fund

Creative Seed Fund focused on early stage entrepreneurs in DFW seeking $50K to complete their F&F round, further push their business and get ready for series A.

Our ideal investment: early-stage seed round, past the idea stage, right after friends & family round so ideally would have already raised ~$50K. Seeking to invest from $25k to $100k with targeted investment at $50k. Can be part of a larger seed round ($500k) but with a realistic valuation.

We are NOT an accelerator program. Our strategy is to provide the 1st valuation validation, screening and limited due diligence mostly betting on the team and product/service potential. Our legal partner is available to facilitate the paperwork (likely a SAFE or convertible note) and set the terms for an easier capital raise process moving forward.

We are looking for driven and mature entrepreneurs with some operational experience, market validation and some traction (can be pre-revenue).

Our goal is a fast decision turnaround (2-3 weeks) and help the entrepreneur to secure a 1st check to line up other potential investors with adequate terms. Understand $50k doesn't go very far but will help the start-up getting visibility through our screening process and network of potential investors.

We will likely provide limited coaching but understand the entrepreneur needs to run the business and already knows what to do.

We are mostly focused on tech in any industry (healthcare, education, transportation, gaming, energy), can be B2B or B2C and also focused on a profitable operating model, not just an app/software.

We want to become one of the few TRUE SEED FUND in town and attract good quality deal flow along with building strong ties with the established start-up ecosystem and guide successful entrepreneurs in the right direction.
