One of the greatest challenges entrepreneurs face is access to seed and growth capital. The purpose of the Mississippi Angel Investor Network (MAIN) is to connect investors with emerging technology companies seeking investment. The Mississippi Angel Investor Network provides entrepreneurs a more effective means to gain access to early stage capital and contributes to the business and investment climate of the state.
Innovate Mississippi works with high growth, high potential companies and grooms the entrepreneurs for an investor pitch. Innovate Mississippi’s Entrepreneurial Development team works with the entrepreneur anywhere from 2 months to several years, until the company is “investor-ready” to take on outside capital. We engage with over 120 companies a year, while only choosing 8-10 companies to present to our Angel Investors. The evolution in our selection process has improved substantially, which is evident in the quality of deals brought to the Mississippi Angel Investor meetings.
Companies typically seek funding ranging from $250,000 to $800,000, which may include up to 10 investors. Innovate Mississippi coordinates follow-up meetings and discussions with interested investors, however all due diligence responsibilities and investment decisions remain with the investors.
