Insure & Match Capital (Holding)

Insure and Match Capital is a support program in Lebanon providing Matching Capital, Equity Guarantee as well as Technical Assistance.

Insure & Match Capital (IM Capital) is a newly established support program in Lebanon, and provides Matching Capital, Equity Guarantee as well as Technical Assistance and Support to a broad range of Qualified Early Stage Businesses (QESBs). This initiative funded by USAID and operated by Berytech, aims to improve access to finance, competitiveness and revenue growth for startups and developing companies.

IM Capital provides investment tools and support directly to companies (QESBs), or indirectly through Qualified Early Stage Investors (QESIs) that include angel investors, venture capital funds, as well as incubators and accelerators.

IM Capital deploys it support along three principal investment components:

Matching Capital

Insure & Match Capital (IM Capital) has the capacity to match new private sector investment. By reducing private sector exposure to risk, it is thereby closing the funding gap in early stage businesses. Additionally, IM Capital enables qualified partners (QESIs) to scale successful investment strategies and to continue investing in early stage businesses.

Equity Guarantee 

IM Capital further incentivizes private sector investment, by providing qualified partners (QESIs) with a partial guarantee on investments in early stage businesses. The Equity Guarantee scheme mitigates some of the risk associated with investing in developing companies and thereby encourages increased capitalization.

Technical Assistance

IM Capital provides technical assistance to improve investors’ and entrepreneurs’ skillsets. A growing range of assistance covers training related to successful investment models, entrepreneurship and business concepts, angel coordination and assistance. Technical assistance to address critical enabling environment issues, business linkages and access to international markets is also part of the program.

IM Capital is funded under USAID’s MENA Investment Initiative, aiming to creating jobs and spurring private investment. By working through incubators, accelerators, and angel investor groups we target startups and early-stage businesses that often struggle to access financing.

IM Capital Holding is a fully-owned subsidiary of Berytech Foundation, which was awarded the local management of the Lebanon MENA -II program as Grantee to direct investment initiatives up to $15 million over a five-year period.
