Our Investment Focus
Welcome to the Impulse4Women Business Angels Program (IBAP), in collaboration with SIA, a unique initiative tailored for women to become leading angel investors.
Impulse4Women is a global non-profit dedicated to connecting and supporting female entrepreneurs and investors. Our mission is to enhance access to funding, education, and networking opportunities.
In collaboration with Startup Investor Accelerator (SIA), we bring you the Impulse4Women Business Angels Program. This partnership leverages SIA's established expertise in investor training to tailor a program that fits the unique needs and aspirations of our community.
Their program has been running for more than 10 years and has already trained 700 Angel Investors, with the impact of having the alumni collectively invest over $225 millions in startups.
Targeting pre-seed and seed startups, our primary focus is on delivering smart-money value. We are committed to supporting startup teams, aiding in their success, and facilitating their progression to the next funding round. We extend comprehensive feedback, introductions, and relevant support to all participating teams, fostering growth and improvement regardless of their final standing in the competition.
This event comprises of three rounds of pitching, employing a "winner takes all" model. The victorious startup secures a substantial investment ranging from $100,000 to $200,000. Additionally, up to five other promising startups may receive funding on a case-by-case basis. With a cap of approximately 60 participating startups, each application is accepted until the quota is met.
This sector-agnostic virtual startup pitch competition seeks companies capable of achieving meaningful milestones with the provided funding. Ideal candidates are those approaching their first revenue, possessing an engaged team actively interacting with the market, and demonstrating some level of traction. Notably, the potential for exponential scalability is a key criterion for angel investors. We typically represent the first outside investment round for startups. We invite startups from North America and greater Europe to apply.
Program Flow:
- 1-minute pitch (approx. 60 startups)
- 3-minute pitch (24 startups)
- 10-minute pitch (12 startups)
- Investor and startup coffee meetings
- Due diligence on 6 startups
- The final public event announcing the winner(s)
- Transfer of funds
The program runs from October 28 (1st pitch to investors November 4) to February 4, 2025 (receiving the investment). The concluding public presentation and official winner announcement occur on the last day of the program.
The process encompasses three pitch days (1-minute, 3-minute, and 10-minute) and due diligence + final meeting. Post each pitching day, investors select startups advancing to the subsequent stage. The whole process is completed within the three-month. The program creates space for investors and startups to foster mutual understanding through thorough checks and feedback sessions.
