Ideal Investment


 Our ideal investment is defined by our "Strategic Venture" philosophy. CEI Ventures is the Corporate Venture Capital (CVC) arm of the CEI Group, a holding company with a 20-year proven track record of building and operating successful businesses in the Brazilian energy sector.


We are not just a financial investor; we are a strategic acceleration partner. Our mission is to apply our deep operational know-how and ecosystem to scale the next generation of energy leaders.


 1. Sector Focus (The "What")


 Our investment thesis is 100% focused on Energytechs. We seek companies using technology to innovate across the entire energy value chain, including:




  • Generation, Transmission, Distribution, and Commercialization.




  • Energy Efficiency and Consumption Management.




  • Digitalization (Smart Grids, IoT, AI applied to energy).




  • Renewable & Distributed Generation (DG).




  • Energy Storage.




  • E-Mobility and Charging Infrastructure.




A critical criterion is that we only invest in business models we deeply understand and can analyze based on our Group's expertise, such as O&M, project development, asset management, energy trading, and distributed generation.


 


2. Startup Profile (The "Who")


 We partner with companies that have already overcome initial validation risks and are ready for commercial and operational scale.




  • Stage: Our primary focus is on Seed to Series A startups.




  • Traction: We prioritize companies that have validated their product, achieved product-market fit, and are generating revenue. Our capital is intended for acceleration and scaling, not for survival or initial product validation.




  • Geography: Our investment focus is strictly on companies based in São Paulo (SP) and Minas Gerais (MG), Brazil.




 


3. Investment Structure (The "How")


 


Our investment structure is designed for partnership, ensuring deep alignment with founders.




  • Check Size: Our initial investment ticket ranges from R$ 2 million to R$ 5 million.




  • Position: We always take a minority stake. We are a strategic partner, and we ensure that founders retain the leadership and control to execute their vision.




 


4. Strategic Criteria (The "Why")


 The ideal investment must have a path to a win-win partnership. Our evaluation is based on two key criteria:




  • Mandatory Criterion (Startup First): The investment must, first and foremost, have the clear potential to accelerate and strengthen the startup's own business.




  • Desirable Criterion (Ecosystem Synergy): We look for clear potential for direct or indirect synergy with the CEI Group's business units.




The ideal startup is one that can leverage our unique value proposition: access to the CEI ecosystem for real-world scaling in industrial environments, immediate access to a portfolio of industrial clients and partners, and deep sector expertise in engineering, regulation, and operations.


In short, our ideal investment is a post-revenue Energytech in SP or MG, where our R$2-5M check and 20-year ecosystem can act as the decisive catalyst to transform it from a growing company into a market leader.
