ZSX is reinventing surgical closure with the Zip-Stitch rapid surgical closure platform. Our debut product closes the vaginal cuff in laparoscopic hysterectomy (Hx). Many surgeons need 15-30 minutes to close the cuff and most adverse events are due to poor closure. Zip-stitch closes the cuff easily in 4 minutes and does so perfectly; accelerating healing and easing the burdens of doctors, hospitals and the 600,000 US women who seek Hx each year.

    Co-founder

    Eric Rugart is the Co-Founder of ZSX Medical and CEO of Feta Med, Inc., a medical supply business servicing the OB/GYN & perinatal hospital community. Feta Med has been doing business for more than 40 years, and supplies over 300 hospitals. Mr. Rugart has an extensive entrepreneurial pedigree and is also a seasoned investor in early-stage companies. Eric is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania.

    President and CEO

    Dr. Mazzucco has been in the medical device industry for more than 20 years. Prior to joining ZSX Medical, Dan directed a Japanese biotech and was a consultant to more than 50 medical device companies while at Exponent, Inc. (NASDAQ: EXPO) He earned a doctorate in medical and mechanical engineering from Harvard Medical School and MIT in the Division of Health Sciences and Technology, and is a graduate of Dartmouth College.
