Dr. Xu is currently Professor of Nuclear and Biomedical Engineering at RPI.. Dr. Xu pioneered many methods in organ dose calculations using 3D/4D patient models, including the world’s finest whole-body dosimetry models, VIP-Man, developed in 2000 from the famous Visible Human Project. Dr. Xu is a fellow of American Association of Medical Physicists (AAPM), Health Physics Society (HPS), and American Nuclear Society (ANS).

  • Dr. Caracappa is a Certified Health Physicist by the American Board of Health Physics, with 10 years experience in positions such as Radiation Safety Officer (RSO). In his role as the RSO Dr. Caracappa has made important contributions to the research literature in radiation dose calculations, especially related to dose to the bones as well as for the dose assessment for patients who are exposed to CT examinations.
