Developing a pure source sustainable ocean food product in the open waters off the beautiful Kohala Coast on the Big Island of Hawaii.
I worked in the ocean related fishing industry in Hawaii for 14 years. I have worked with the marine biologists at the N.E.L.H.A.. lab at Keahole Hawaii in Kona for the same length of time. This fishery has been investigated by the U.S. DLNR from 1969 -1984 and was deemed unprofitable for a couple of good reasons. I have taken a fresh look at a better approach and now understand how to sustain the trapping of the shrimp with small craft daily.
