Metamodix was formed in 2009 with the goal of reducing the human and financial costs of Type 2 Diabetes and obesity. The company is initially focused on commercializing the EndoSleeve™ - a gastrointestinal liner that modifies nutrient absorption and neuro-hormonal signaling through a portion of the small intestine to cause remission of diabetes. The therapy promises to be safer and far more cost-effective than surgery or medications.
