Elijah Mayfield (B.A., Computer Science, U Minnesota, Morris; M.S., Language Technologies, Carnegie Mellon) is the founder of LightSIDE Labs. He is a recipient of a 2011 Siebel Scholarship and a 2013 IBM Ph.D. Fellowship. His work has been on NPR, Education Week, the New York Times, and highlighted as an Editor’s Choice in Science. He is an author or co-author on more than 25 peer-reviewed publications in language technologies.
David Adamson (B.A., Computer Science, Oberlin College; M.S., Language Technologies, Carnegie Mellon) is the Technical Director of LightSIDE Labs. David spent six years as a high school teacher in Baltimore, and is also currently a Ph.D. student at Carnegie Mellon, developing automated conversational agents to facilitate small group student discussions. He enjoys mead-making, hiking, biking, and viking.
