Long-haul trucks typically have 400 to 450 hp engines that rarely operate at peak power. We are building a 3rd generation diesel-electric hybrid drivetrain with • a 240 hp genset for steady-state cruising • battery boost on demand for acceleration and hill climbing • and dynamic regenerative braking to optimize fuel economy. Our target market is the 2.5 million unit heavy-transport fleet that consumes 28 billion gallons of fuel per year.
