Company Summary

Pro-Use Produce (PUP) dehydrates unused produce to create high-quality dried food products which we donate and sell to support our mission. Tons of produce is wasted every year in King county yet many children do not have access to healthy food. PUP increases the accessibility of nutritious food to kids in need by reducing waste. Our customers are health-focused retail outlets and online consumers, and organizations that feed kids.

    Co-Founder

    Aaron has a Master’s Degree in Organizational Development and has a professional background in sales, health care and social entrepreneurship. Motivated to make a difference in the world, Aaron is involved in fighting human trafficking and is a peer counselor for the MS Society. Aaron is known for his charisma, public speaking and passion. He helped create Pro-Use Produce because he believes no child should go hungry when there is so much food.

    Co-Founder

    After two years in South Florida working as a mortgage lender, John moved to Seattle to pursue his true passion social entrpreneuship. In June 2011, John earned his Master’s Degree in Leadership and Management. John co-founded Pro-Use Produce because he envisioned a successful business model to sustainably increase food justice. John saw an abundance of food that could be brought back into the community and make healthy food fully accessible.

  • Scott Taylor
    Communications Manager

    Scott has been a communications professional for more than 19 years. His work includes writing engineering reports, Op-eds for political campaigns, environmental newsletters, press releases, magazine editing, freelance writing and running web and print marketing for a company he owned. He recently earned an M.A. in Strategic Communication and is working as a communications consultant for small businesses, nonprofits and government agencies.
